Big Changes on the Horizon for Landlords

Big Changes on the Horizon for Landlords

Lettings Market Update | May 2021

It’s great to reach another lockdown-easing milestone on schedule and take one more big step back towards normal – the power of choice is back and it is set to be a June to remember!

The weather has certainly left something to be desired this month but it’s nice to get back into our local establishments for meals and drinks in the warm. Holidays are back on the agenda, though perhaps a little more limited than we’d like, and we can once again safely hug loved ones.

This phase of lockdown restrictions easing has meant so much to so many and, with the vaccine programme still going strong, we appear to remain on course for the return to normal in June.

This exciting next phase of unlocking also brought some good news for landlords with more positive changes to evictions and notice periods, along with some interesting housing mentions in the Queens Speech and changes in Rights to Rent checks on the horizon, which will take us back to the pre-Covid process.

The big news here at Pittis is that we have reached a milestone birthday as our parent company, Arun Estates, turned 30 years young this month. In line with this, our Managing Director, David Lench, has also decided that it is finally time to take a big step back from the day-to-day running of the business.

David has steered the business through stormy seas before, but none perhaps quite so challenging as the last 15 months. We are all grateful for the incredible job he has done in responding to the pandemic and for ensuring the business is in a very strong position as Aldo Sotgiu takes the reins moving forwards.

This isn’t goodbye forever though, as David will still keep an active interest in the business, but we all wish him the very best for the future.

In true “David Lench” style, he is marking this landmark in a not-so-relaxing way by cycling from Milan to Venice, raising money for 2 fantastic charities, Action Medical Research and The Children’s Trust.

It would be great if you could help David mark this occasion and help him to raise as much money as possible! You can donate here:

Until next time,
